Bringing every loyalty card into one application

A mobile application that lets users find cards from every Koree-affiliated retailer and add one in seconds by scanning a QR code.

Context

Koree set out to replace the accumulation of physical loyalty cards with one mobile experience. The application needed to bring cards from the platform’s affiliated retailers into a single digital wallet.

The challenge

The main challenge was making the application simple enough for anyone to adopt. Manually adding a card took 30 to 45 seconds and created significant friction during a user’s first interactions.

The solution

I designed and developed a QR-based journey. Instead of completing a form, users scan the code presented by a retailer and add their card in about five seconds. This makes the experience faster, more intuitive and better suited to in-store use.

My role

I developed the mobile application and worked directly on its user experience within a six-person team. I also assessed the needs of affiliated retailers so the journeys reflected how they operated. My main contribution was designing and implementing the QR scanning flow that simplifies card registration.

Key features

  • Every loyalty card in one application
  • Directory of affiliated retailers
  • Fast QR-based card registration
  • Mobile experience designed for in-store use

Outcomes

Card registration reduced from 30–45 seconds to about 5 seconds10,000+ downloads300+ affiliated retailers15,000 cards and 50,000+ scans
